Required inspection items definition and procedure
The second type of critical tasks is Required Inspection Items (RII). The main difference from the first type is that these tasks do not necessarily involve several identical aircraft systems. These tasks may cover only one system and even only one maintenance step, but this step is considered either very error prone and/or important for flight safety. The tasks relating to the RII may only be inspected by appropriately authorised inspectors (QI or I staff category).
Critical tasks and Required Inspection Items shall always be inspected with reference to Independent inspection procedure.
